Welcome to The McGowan

School of Dance.

 

We are a Dance School based in West Cornwall originally started by Penzance’s famous ‘Miss’ Diana McGowan in the early 1950's. We are delighted to be now based at Old School Studio in Newlyn.

We aim to continue Diana's legacy by providing recognised qualifications for children wishing 

to study dance as a hobby or pursue a professional career in the arts. 

​

The school is now owned and run by Maria De Francesca who was Diana's assistant for many years. Maria is a RAD registered teacher with a Silver Swans license and also teaches GCSE, BTEC, and A-Level Dance.

​

We offer RAD Ballet classes for all ages from toddlers to adults and ISTD Tap and Modern.

​

All classes are taught by fully qualified registered and trained RAD and ISTD teachers.
